Could you tell me where you get those rubber mats from in your background and if they have a name? Ive been looking for one for EVER!
buriedintheblack got it right, found in any walmart in the kitchen wares area. It’s non slip mat for your drawers. Cheap and looks good, I back mine with a white posterboard.
Bought an inexpensive one with a Ceramic Peeler also paid like $18. Has worked well so far, had it about a year and both still very sharp. Only use it for cooking. China made also, oh well. Take care.
Nice! I had one when they first started making them, like 20 years ago, and the one I had was from a company called KAI. I gave it to my mom.
I saw a video last year from virtuovice where he convexed his. What do you think would happen if you used it on your spyderco stone? I imagine they would have a similar hardness. Just curious
I hear you brother, thanks for watching!
Oh yeah, that would make sense. Maybe a DMT course diamond stone or the diamond rods you can get with a sharpmaker.
So is it really even possible to properly sharpen these? What would one use?
the best ceramic knive is made by kyocera but it 3 times more expensive
The ceramic knifes at Harbor Freight comes in 3 different blade lengths. All individually packaged, they’ve easily sliced through any food placed in front of them. The wife an I have been using them for close to 7 years now. Haven’t noticed any real dullness yet.
That is great info, I will look into them! I hear you an the Japan thing.
Thanks for commenting 🙂
ha ha, its my only OK kitchen knife Pav…. If I broke it I would starve to death… 🙁
Lol, on a better note, I hate to see you cut your hand real bad, tuck the not cutting hand behind your back next time. Some folks even put there not cutting hand in their back pocket.
Hope it healing well now! Wimmins folk are ALWAYS right, once I started listening things become much easier LOLllllllllllzzzzzzz 🙂
KAI is Kershaw, it was probably one of the first ones put out?
Ha ha, I might just try it on the backside of my stone to see what happens??? I bet it explodes into fire!!! LOL
I’d recommend Kyocera for high quality ceramic knives. Extremely sharp edge, ceramic is very strong, I’ve dropped it more than a few times on a tile floor from a counter top, didn’t break, no nicks, it’s in practically new condition. Doesn’t have the “toothy” problem, slices like a charm. They are a bit more expensive; mine was $30, but it’s well worth it imo. Plus it’s made in Japan, not China. 😉
I use a plastic one, wood is probably a better choice though. 🙂
Thanks for watching!
Sure is, thanks for helping out brother!
Looks to me like standard shelf-liner available at the likes of WalMart, HomeDepot, Amazon, etc…
Cheers guys, I’ll try locate in Australia.
