Slitzer CTCLVR Professional Chef’s Heavy-Duty Cleaver review

I was so wowed when I got this! Yes it is big, it needs to be big (and heavy), it’s a real cleaver meant for cutting meat and bone, nothing is going to slow this cleaver down! I grew up watching cooking shows and always wanted to get a big meat cleaver, but all the ones I found locally were small, lightweight and not meant for the kind of use I was going to give it. When I received this, I could feel how heavy it was before I ever opened the box, once I opened it I was blown over at the size and quality, my friends who were over visiting at the time were also impressed. It comes with a protective piece of rubber over the business end so it will make it to your front door without going through the packaging, I’m going to save mine so that it will not be dulled in storage in my knife drawer.

This cleaver is sharp, sturdy, heavy duty, it’s what I would expect a real butcher to have and use, I am in culinary heaven! This feels so good in my hand, it’s the real deal for serious cooks and chefs. #SLITZER #WrethaReviews

I received this free in exchange for my review

Tyler Whitney says:

Get yourself a Northmen guild heavy duty meat cleaver. High carbon 9260 steel hardened to 61 rc. You think that cleaver is heavy and thick, the Northmen guild cleaver is twice as thick and probably twice as heavy. I think if you’re a serious collector, or even a single mom, this cleaver will do anything you ask it to. Chop beef bones? Check. Chop wood like an axe? Check. Heirloom quality? Check. You can’t go wrong with one. They are a bit pricey compared to any other cleaver you’ll find, but the price of admission is worth the product you get. It’s all hand forged with a hammer and anvil.
