I can see alot of blood/material getting stuck around the screws on the handel, making it hard to clean. Especially if it’s suppose to last a lifetime

Probably not a blade of 440 stainless steel composition. The Ruger site indicates it’s 8Cr13MoV, a decent Chinese steel in most tempers, but less well-regarded material for both toughness, edge-retention and wear, NOT up to quality of most steels generically named 440 or 440A or 440C, nor AUS-8. Stick tang too, so hunter “restraint” is best if wanting to break down hip joints or spines of deer or other large game. Ours broke and was replaced by Ruger on request.

Columbia River make solid knives. The full tang makes both of the knives versatile and tough.

Beautiful design
I really like the way the handles are formed for a stable grip no matter the project and the thickness of the blades. No preference of blade style since both would be efficient at almost any time. Great idea to make them so versatile.
I’ve always found Ruger products to be good! Those knives would also be great for the kitchen. 🙂

Looks like a great set of hunting knives. CRKT makes some of the best knives in the world. I own three of them and can still shave with anyone of them. Very sharp knives that keep an edge extremely well.
