look like martindale golok # 2
Just got mine the other day and finally had a chance to put it to the test. Figured I would take a moment and leave an in depth review. First of all I don’t often splurge and spend 100+ Canadian pesos on a tool I know I’m going to abuse. But this small machete is robust enough to take a life time of abuse and still be passed on. The handle is well shaped and fits my big hands well. The blade Is very thick and takes a fine edge nicely. It was sharp out of the box but was quite coarsely and unevenly ground, a few minutes with my fine file fixed that and a few more with a stone had it razor sharp. The only cons I have to do with the knife itself is that one side of the edge was a little uneven from the other and the blueing/paint on the blade is patchy as though it hadn’t been properly cleaned prior. Very minor and forgivable at this price in my opinion. Now on to the sheath. It holds the machete very securely, even without the top strap. Which is great, BUT the opening is so narrow that when removing or replacing the machete, the wide part of the blade cuts through the canvas if not done extremely slowly and carefully. I will mention that I added an adjustable leather wrist strap, that when tightened around the back of the wrist really helps support the significant weight of the blade.. TLDR: Heavy duty tool made from quality products. Sheath slightly less so.
Nice! Love Condor knives
The Lamborghini look of machetes. Nice.
A seemingly great offering
It’s a copy of the British Army Golok, a damn good tool.
