Our FTC Disclosure:

Thanks for hangin’ out!

Will Leigh says:

Great video. It’s nice to see the Air Ranger getting some love. A really underrated knife IMO.
I normally will use either the Air Ranger or a Kershaw Blur for my pocket EDC (I take the clips off all of my knives), But my favorite has to be my belt carry; the Gerber Gator. If the world ends and can only use one piece of steel, that’s the steel I’m grabbing.

Oscar Alcaraz says:

Can’t go wrong with a Ka-Bar and Benchmade. I’ve using both companies as edc for years now. Never had a problem with either one.

I AM MOOSE says:

I am just getting into survival and these knives are mostly budget but quality knives, I will be taking a look at some of these. Thanks I love this channel.

Scarecrowdesu says:

great list

Barry Bueler says:

Like the review I haven’t seen many videos lately u sick definitely my pick would be the small griptilian luv it and own one plus 2 large griptilian there all great 2nd I would pick the spyderco Delica might of went with the buck but like to be able to sharpen them in the field which s30v steel is just to tough 3rd pick is the boker in vg10 didn’t really like any of the other knives you showed in the video but that’s me✌️

jgalindezjg says:

I’m partial to the Endura over the Delica, but I love Spyderco for edc

ben floyd says:

Omg I haven’t watched your videos in like a year and they are exactly the same which is a good thing !

keziah munyiri says:

TheMongo1357 says:

I like your video, but you left out COLD STEEL brand knives?

Kandisue Beck says:

The CRK knife link does not go to the knife you reviewed https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001C63SP0/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=gelm-20&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B001C63SP0&linkId=3f324627912ea404c9e520ce145f37de  Different blade altogether. Does anybody know where the knife that David reviewed can be found – thanks.

Ben Doucette says:

Hello David,
Thanks for all the great videos. I will enjoy investigating the knives on your list. I usually go out the door with an OKC Rat 1 or 2 in my pocket, but love trying other knives. My wife and just got back from a wonderful drive through the northeastern states. Loved it, especially Pennsylvania. Picked up a CRKT M16 while there.
Take care,
Ben from Nova Scotia

Troy Mckee says:

Great video you hit every must have starter EDC knife and then some

Bach Frog says:

Good video. My favorite knife is my 7 dollar harbour freight cheapo knife. Came razor sharp and I don’t care if it gets lost or breaks

Espectador de vídeo says:

What is the name of the bow that u choose to survive the 87 days alone?

skullcandy wonderland says:

that crkt looks exactly like a gerber knife iv bin using for years and only cost $18

InPhAmUs AL says:

Kershaw 1620FL Ken Onion design hands down

korling99 says:

My favorite is the 940, but that’s quite a bit more expensive than most of these – that Boker looks to be a great value for a true gentleman’s edc

PenguinM8 Penguino says:

Im stuck between the Ka-bar and the OKC, which one?

Mr panda boy says:

Add me on Snapchat for more tips on how to make makeshift bows axes and more my user name is thecoolkid19g

michael koncal says:

When I get a new quality knife. The first thing I do is remove the pocket clip! Lost 2 nice Kershaws to the damn pocket clips!!!

Ed Brooks says:

Great video, Gentlemen.
I have read the book and met the Author.
Everything is spelled out in a language that is understood by all.
They {Craig and David} are right . whether you are a hiker , camper or even drive THROUGH a wilderness area this is an intellectual, easy, MUST read.

i saw peeks of OUR video included.
When does that come out?

korling99 says:

thanks for a good overview. your voice during the intro almost sounds computer generated

Jordan Crafts says:

Can you make a video about a diy shelter kit?

Gunslinger454 says:

Maybe it’s because I’m such a knife nut, but I don’t really worry too much about weight when I’m choosing a knife, within reason of course. I also carry multiples. In the backcountry I carry 4-5 knives on my body, and around town I typically EDC 3-4.

The two EDC knives that I always have on me are my Kershaw Blur S30V (4 oz) and my Victorinox Swisschamp (6.5 oz). Those two are always on me. If I’ve got my pants on I have my Blur and my Swisschamp on too. Other than my Spyderco Endura 4 (3.6 oz) with the Emerson Wave, which is kind of an automatic opener (which I don’t always like), the Blur is the fastest opening knife I’ve ever used. It’s even faster into action than my automatics (no safety to fiddle with). It’s also very solid, very well built, very secure in the hand and not so expensive that I’ll be crying into my pillow all weekend if I lose it. (I’m not big on walking around with a $300+ knife clipped into my pocket. They are way too easy to lose!)

For knives #3 and (sometimes) #4 I’ll go with either a second tactical folder — the aforementioned Endura 4 is a common companion — a neck knife and/or a small 3-4″ fixed blade. A few weeks ago I picked up one of Schrade’s SCH602Ti folders (4.8 oz) with the machined titanium handle and the D2 blade on Amazon for $27 (normally $70+), and I’ve been playing with it for the last few weeks. I’m not typically a big fan of Schrade knives, but this one is pretty solid.

Tim Muir says:

Anyone can get a quality American made Gerber or Buck on the cheap, especially the Walmart exclusives. No reason to buy a Chinese communist or Taiwanese blade.

z ga says:

Very good models, I like everyone BUT you forgot about Esee zancudo which is perfect for edc. 🙂

jonNH123 says:

Wonderful vids; really top quality. Thanks for all you do!

Dakota Kaech says:

I just got my buck vantage, love they are made in USA and it came razor sharp from factory. USA all the way, attempting to purchase less overseas items.

Mt. Baldwin says:

My favorite small edc is the cold steel hold out 3, cts-xhp steel, 3 inch blade, 2.5 oz. and it was $75 or something, cold steel was crazy to discontinue this, best small edc they had.

Rattlesnake Zack says:

God I love the Kershaw skyline. It’s just an excellent gentleman’s folder. If you’re on the line of getting one, do it. It’s 40 dollars for a sandvik steel g10 folder under 3 oz

Dalton Tinsley says:

The mini grip and the boker are my favorites, and this is a really good list of sturdy lightweight knives. Thanks for the video!

Chandler Kertesz says:

The kershaw chill is a mother’s great knife under 3 ounces

hacker6330 says:

why am i not geting notifications ahhh y utube so broken

John Baker says:

Spyderco Manix 2 Lightweight it is right on the line at 3.0 oz and has 3.44in blade. Love this knife.

Adam Koenig says:

Nationwide 2A rally happening November 5th!!!! We need people!

Billy Blazer says:

I carry the Kershaw injection 3.5 as my edc, which weighs in at a debilitating 4.4 oz. But don’t worry, i religiously hit the gym everyday to help ensure I can physically carry that extra burdensome 1.5 ounce of weight. But, what really has me wondering, is how back in the olden days people carried the buck 110, at almost twice my injections weight, and were able to survive from day to day, without access to a gym to pump iron daily, in order to handle such a drastic load? Hmmmmm…….??????

Jake S says:

Hollow grinds are garbage

Ryan Toan says:

In addition to knives you have already mentioned (such as delica 4 ffg, rat 2, mini griptillian) I love the dragonfly ffg with frn. I also like the delica 4 Kahr version.

weedXD38 says:

Hay GOOD morning it’s been awhile ,but excellent review on the top 10 !!! thanks for sharing n keep the vids coming!!! 🙂 🙂

david37922 says:

Benchmade 535 Bugout, S30V, weighs 1.85 oz, $115, nothing better for EDC.

Matt Nall says:

It’s more of a medium size, but the Spyderco Manix 2 is my absolute favorite EDC. It’s unbelievably light (3oz) and the ergonomics beat anything and everything I’ve ever held in my hand. It’s perfect.

John Athan says:

I would include the Gerber 06 Manual Combat folder

edc packs says:

Hey we love your channel! these are all great knives, but there are so many options on the market!

K N Survival says:

I wish he would have mentioned the length of the blade.

Leo Jakić says:

Why don’t you review any bark river or fallkniven knives

angel araiza says:

love your videos david my pocket knife that i been carrying is the kershaw 1556ti cryo speedsafe knive
