The CRKT Fossil knife makes all your other stylish knives extinct.

Flavio Ikoma’s latest folding knife looks like a T-rex on stainless steel steroids. The Fossil™ is one part hard core, one part gorgeous and one part 12,000 pound flesh-eating dinosaur.

The Fossil™ combines the best from designer Flavio Ikoma. With styling cues found on his previous Sampa™ ; and Carajas™ ; models, the Fossil™ ramps up the artistic flair to create a piece that is clearly Ikoma, yet distinctively a new breed of EDC folder.

This pocket knife features an IKBS ball bearing system, combined with an opening flipper for silky smooth blade deployment. The flipper turns into a handsome finger guard when the blade is open. A thumb hole cutout in the blade gives you a second option for opening the knife. The handles of the Fossil™ are stainless steel with a unique hammer finish. The knife locks open solidly with a frame lock. Duo-tone G10 scales add contour and grip to the handle. The pocket clip is tip-up carry only.

The Fossil™ has the beauty of a museum piece combined with the shear muscle of a prehistoric carnivore.

Super smooth action. Nice knife. A bit on the large side but really nice

I just picked up on of these on sale because the package was damaged for 20 bucks. Beyond happy with this blade, far exceeded my expectations. Same steel as the spyderco tenacious which holds a great edge and sharpens great. Super cool feeling and looking, indexing is surprisingly comfortable

just got mine, awesome knife but being a lefty i absolutely hate the pocket-clip not being multi positional. off 2 the drill press!

Red Head Dude says:

I’ve had this knife for about 2 years now and in no way has its life been easy. I use it every day, take it out in the woods, it gets dirty, it gets beat, and it holds up to all of it. Excellent knife

Justin Bolbach says:

I finally got one after reading and watching a bunch of reviews and I’ve spent more money on the Gerber I want to say fast 2 (tactical knife with opening assist glass breaker and belt wire cutter) and broke the tip off of it in the first week of having it and had the SOG trident which I love but too much blade play and had to file down the safety switch on it bc in my pocket it would hit the safety on and nothing is more frustrating then trying to get to a knife quickly and use it and it doesnt open bc the safety was hit on by being in your pocket (there’s no need for a safety on a knife unless you have small children in your home and you leave knives laying around) I’m really eager to see how the Fossil holds up.

Dan Reid says:

I’m headin’ out to get one right now! Dang nice chunk of fun!

Troy Hartman says:

I own this and it is my EDC. I’m mostly happy with it, but after a couple days carrying it in my pocket, I noticed the clip no longer closed up snug against the handle, but is now gapped open about 1/16″. Also a few days after opening the package the blade began to show some minor surface corrosion. Nothing a little WD-40 couldn’t remove. I oil the blade about once a week and there hasn’t been any sign of corrosion since. Neither of these issues are deal breakers for me, but I would have expected a bit better from a $90 knife.

That’s a good 1

Justin Dilley says:

Lightning holes. Did you work on aircraft?

Don Ferguson says:

Love the knife but the clip snags on everything must be careful on T-shirt s

Gun Enthusiast says:

Sweet blade.

Ethan Bible says:

I love this knife it stays sharp to!!!

Tyler Smith says:

Just picked this up at Walmart for $40 and it’s great but I noticed there’s no grooves exposing the screws along the top of the handle on the clip side of the scale like there is on the other side. Nothing I can’t fix just wondering if anyone else had this issue?
