got my chive as my secondary blade allt he time, special in work enviorment. Stealthy little thing fun to play with. hehe
Just tighten the torx screw on the safety, it won’t lock on you by accident.
I already have the Kershaw Blur, Kershaw Leek, and Kershaw Scallion. All designed by Ken Onion. All have speed safe and all are great knives, but I like the fact that the Chive is a frame lock instead of a liner lock. A bit pricey at my local sporting goods store ($49.99). I might pick this one up on Amazon ($29.96 right now) to add to my Ken Onion collection.
I’ve carried knives in a cabinet shop environ for 40+ years. These are for marking wood and general fine scribing work.We have unlimited sharpening capacities.Basically,a “babied” place for a pocktknife.
The Kershaw Ken Onion is the biggest POS I’ve ever had the misfortune of using. The blade broke right at that little circular thumb opening lever a month after buying it.The lock also broke after 6 months.
Lifetime warrenty? No way,Kershaw wants 10$ to replace the broken blade.I’ll never own another Kershaw, because they don’t stand behind their product.Knives used in our shop are hardly stressed at all….this knife, the designer, and the co. needs to go back to school….doh.
+Adam Len Good point. Thx
How do you sharpen your kershaw chive. I have one and I can’t sharpen it on my stone because of the belly in the edge
Chive or leek
was thinking about picking this up for my girlfriend. she was skeptical about me carrying a knife but when i let her borrow one of mine she seemed to appreciate it. it seems like it’s a good size but is it very user friendly? i love kershaw knives but have never seen a chive irl
My favorites Kershaw pocket knives: Ken Onion Chive 1600, Ken Onion Leek 1660, Ken Onion Scallion 1620, and last but not least, the 1555TI Cryo Hinderer Design. I own all 4 and very happy with them.
might get one – good for the price on the amazon link
