Why only talk about the newer style single blade knives there are a lot of people that still prefer a multi blades knife or what some refer to as grandpas knife if one blade gets dull you have a spare and the knives with the pin or cam lock you missed several styles that are edc knives
On top of what knife should you buy for a first knife Buy a cheaper knife and a sharpening stone and learn to take care of a cheap one first then get a nice one later

Good preentation. In the future, try not to forget the good old slip joints and blade shapes like the bowie clip. Congrats.
Even knowing what I know now, and with all of the knives that I’ve bought over the years, I still believe that the Kershaw Skyline is an amazing first knife. It’s the first decent knife I remember saving up for. Awesome blade and g10 scales. Plus it’s a manual flipper which already makes it better than most of the knives that Kershaw produces. I wish I never gave it away.
They were all way to large to carry in your pocket…..get it ? pocket knives
Buck 110, it will outlast you. Made in America, Forever warrantee. And yes with practice and some common sense you can open it one handed.
Buck 110
How can anyone suggest anything other than a Victorinox Swiss Army Knife for a first time knife?!? They are really good quality for the price, they’re useful, and they will do 90% of the knife related tasks that Joe Average needs to get done. Gotta love the elitists on here who say to only get something that costs $100 or more. IMHO, there is no better starter knife than a Victorinox. Case XX pocket knives are also a great choice, although I would get a Case after the Victorinox. You can get really pretty Case knives, and they’ll be more expensive. I have close to 30 knives, ranging in price from $22 to over $300. I’ve got quite a few of the top brands, including multiple Spydercos and Benchmades, and I still love the classic Victorinox Swiss Army Knife. It brings back memories of being a kid like no other knife can.
Blade HQ needs to train their staff on customer service, coz the way they deliver their speech is like they’re explaining to kids…
